FRANK FRAZETTA'S 'WEREWOLF' PORTFOLIO

When I grabbed the very first issue of Warren's CREEPY off the newsstand way back in the summer of 1964, this Monster Kid was thrilled beyond words. I mean, here was a regular, full-size magazine of monster comics! The stories all had fabulous artwork, but one stood out against the rest... Frank Frazetta.

In what would be his last official "comic book" story of his career, Frazetta pulled out all the stops with his dramatic character poses and panel sequences. Widely imitated, no other artist could equal the sheer, breathtaking style that Frazetta had. You could almost say that he was too good for comics.

Shown today is Frazetta's 'Werewolf' portfolio, a seldom seen presentation of his fine story from that first issue of CREEPY.
