I was one of the many thousands of readers that was seduced by the spell of Anne Rice's vampire novels. One part horror and one part eroticism, they were captivatingly told in a way that entertained both male and female readers alike.
Now, over forty years later, Ms. Rice has published a new book about her vampire hero, Lestat, and placed it in the mythic land of Atlantis.
Personally, I burnt out on the series (and the glut of vampire books that followed) and left her literary realm after the publication of The Mummy, or Ramses the Damned. Nevertheless, she has retained a loyal fan following since the 70's.
In her interview with STARBURST (August 2017) she talks about her new book and the romance of monsters.
